We traveled, we ate, we got shocked by the conference, we didn’t sleep too much.
The IndySCC25 passed, and it was incredible. We felt like guests of honor, having access to full conference sponsorship by the committee of the IndySCC25 was amazing.
We all expected a big conference, but this was something else. 3 blocks of pure HPC, with lots of exhibitions, booths showing their technology, workshops and tutorials.
The first day of the conference we started the competition, 46hs to compile and run three applications. We divided the work in three teams.
Structural Simulation Toolkit
- Ignacio Facello
Exascale Climate Emulators
- Javier Mercado
- Tomas Hubman
Mystery App (ACTS)
- Lara Kurtz
- Milagros Carabelos
- Tomas Bazan
The competition didn’t result as we expected, but in retrospective we performed quite well. We couldn’t compile and run the Mystery App, but it turns out that most of the teams couldn’t compile it either. In the other tasks we achieved a reasonable performance. More information in the UNC Supercomputo article.
We’d like to thank, once again, our advisor Alejandro Silva, for the support and the walks between sessions that helped us clear our minds during the competition.
There is a lot to improve, we’re already focused on our next competition, ASC26.
